Hi. I’m Bill Kimberley and I just completed constructing a four million dollar office retail building and along with that building we had some problems to overcome. Across the front of the property, we had a large drainage area that had been there for some time and had washed out – we had severe erosion. It drained many acres of land and at times really carried a large velocity of water through there. So the problem was how do we control that erosion and how do we make it look good in the front of our property that we wanted to appear nice…  

Well my erosion control contractor contacted me and he offered a solution that I’m very glad we decided to go with. He recommended that we use reinforced erosion mats down for the entire ditch area and up on the slopes. This is something that is stapled down on top of your sod. The sod eventually grows up through it and you mow it and maintain it just like your yard. You don’t even really see the erosion mats.  

The other problem that we had was at the intakes or where all of the culverts drained into this drainage ditch area. The velocity at any storm period comes through at such velocity that the erosion was really a problem…  

Our erosion control contractor recommended the use of ScourStop and it basically has stopped any erosion whatsoever and now my appearance across the front of this building is really beautiful. We irrigate the area, we mow it, we keep it groomed just like we do the rest of the property. We don’t have any of the debris collection, any of the unsightly weeds or any of the erosion.   

So, we’re very, very happy with these solutions.
